How much do hobbies and vices cost me each year?

Budgeting can lead to some fairly clear indications of how we spend our money in our household. Hobbies and vices, things like movies, video games, smoking and partying, can shed light onto our spending faults.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average United States citizen spent 5.6% of their household income on hobbies in 2013, and around $2,900 in 2016. This past year, it is estimated that U.S. consumers spent well over $3,100 on entertainment and hobbies.
