College is one of the biggest investments in a person’s life. And it really is an investment – think about what your preparedness can grow for them in the future.
According to the College Board, the average cost of tuition and fees for the 2017–2018 school year was $34,740 at private colleges, $9,970 for state residents at public colleges, and $25,620 for out-of-state residents attending public universities.
Multiply those values by the years it takes to get that degree. You can then start to understand the financial impact not saving for college can have when your son or daughter graduates from high school.
There are tons of ways to finance college. However, the more you have to put down, the less students will have to pay back in the future. And I think that we can all agree, every little bit helps.
