When you close on a home, there are a few fees and costs that you must pay.
- loan origination fees
- discount points
- appraisal fees
- title searches
- title insurance
- surveys
- taxes
- deed-recording fees
- credit report charges
By law, all of these fees are designated in the Good Faith Estimate, or the Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure Form, which your lender will provide to you within 3 business days of submitting your loan application. Because of this, you should have no hidden or surprise fees pop up during the process of buying your new home.
